I couldn't be more excited about June's Challenge that has been posted on the FB group I am part of, 31 Day Weight Loss Challenge. This month sounds like it will be the best yet. The to-do list was posted and I have checked all items off. Interestingly the most exciting one was purchasing some hand weights, measly 3lb each but exciting all the same!! :) Right now, (okay 5 minutes ago) I am looking for "clean" recipes. I went through my cupboards earlier and I have a large selection of grains (thank you sister-in-law) and beans. I hit the grocery store today and got tons of veggies and fruit, so much that my hubby was making fun of me! So, after Bee Movie is done and my big girls are in bed (t-15 min and counting) I will drag my tired self back down here to do a workout then sit and research recipes to utilize my fabulous grains!!! Shortly after all of that I will be hitting my pillow...with my head...HARD! Sooooo tired! My poor baby girl is teething, she had hubby and I up most of the night crying (her not us...although I think we were close...lol). Fingers crossed for a better sleep tonight.....

Work out for the day
Cleaning the house...that is my workout for the day! Better than sitting on the couch watching TV right!? I scrubbed the kitchen, even pulled the stove out (okay hubby did that) and cleaned there. That was beyond gross...note to self, do that more often!!! Next up was the living room...that is mostly clean now minus the shelves that I didn't feel like tackling. Bathroom upstairs, scrubbed down and smelling nice! Stairs vacuumed, toys sorted, floors mopped...all seems to be clean...even ME!!! Miraculous!

Staying with this...
It's so hard to stick to staying in shape...at least for me it is! I think my record so far is 2 weeks...impressive isn't it!? BAH!
So back at it again, I went for 2 weeks...have taken a week off and am eager to get back to it this evening. I have this much going for me this time! Usually takes a month or more before I get the itch again. So in the spirit of getting back to this I have found myself here, in search of other bloggers to read up on...inspiration is needed and am hoping to find it here! A searching I go.....

Healthy eating is going great for us still! I feel great and I think I've lost some inches! Could be my imagination but seems to me that there's some spare tire missing! haha
To conitnue on with regular exercise and being able to walk our beautiful dogs, I have finally found a good carrier for the baby! I found a Patapum on the UsedOttawa website and am sooo excited to pick it up on Friday morning! Doggy park here we come again!!
In other news, I've been researching a procedure I've wanted done for a very long time! Details to be released when all desicions are made but I couldn't be more exicted!

Feeling GREAT!!
Yesterday afternoon it was beautiful!! Hubby and I took advantage of that and took two of our girls (plus a daycare child) and our handsome Doberman, Jude, for a walk at the dog park. It was fantastic! We walked the entire park and enjoyed watching him play with the other dogs. It feels wonderful to be out and getting exercise!
After dinner we went out for another walk with all of our girls and Jude. A nice, brisk walk around our neighbourhood was perfect. Although I felt like I might be running my second born into the ground, or maybe just dragging her around the neighbourhood!
More walks for today, off to a different dog park today with Jude's puppy pal Diesel!

Success!!
For dinner this evening I prepared red quinoa cooked in chicken stock with onion and garlic with steamed broccoli on top. A balsamic vinegar/brown sugar glazed pork tenderloin and some new potatoes roasted in the same pan for my husband. All of my girls liked everything! Success!!! Now my battle for the evening....to not snack myself into oblivion.....
Also, on another note, I am hoping for another success tonight! My youngest daughter is soon to be 11 months old and up until last night had been co-sleeping with me. Last night she went to sleep fairly quickly in her crib and stayed there until about 4am!!! So far so good tonight as well! Maybe 2 minutes of crying and now she sleeps! *fingers crossed*

Change is good!
Well, I've had it in my mind (the very BACK of my mind) for quite some time now. Finally, I've brought that thought to action it's time for change! First and most importantly is to change the way I eat, and how I feed my family. We didn't eat horribly before but not all that great either to be honest.
First item to get the axe from the menu, anything made from white flour. Pasta, rice, tortillas and all the usual snacky, sugar-filled junk. In it's place is a large list of body, loving grains.
Roll call:
Bulgar
Kasha
Barley
Lentils
Wheat Berries
Millet
Orzo
Whole Wheat Couscous
Kamut
Red Quinoa
Israeli Couscous
And, of course only whole wheat or whole grain breads and pasta which we usually did anyhow. The next journey for me is to scour the net for some amazing recipes to use all of my wonderful grains!
To replace all of the sugar, starch and (let's face it) empty calorie snacks we have a line-up of veggies and fruit!
My children really do make this very easy on me too! They will eat just about anything you put in front of them, at the very least, they give it a try. My husband as well, although he's not AS open to the change as the girls are!
So...why am I writing this all here? To keep myself accountable!! This is something I've wanted for quite some time now and it is now time! My girls will learn good eating habits for life! We all benefit, short term and long term! Let's not forget it will help to take off those last 20 or so pounds that are hanging out since having Aspen....next step....lots more exercise!
